Kerry rout Wicklow in qualifier

Kerry routed Wicklow by 23 points in Portlaoise today in what was the Kingdom’s first experience of the All Ireland football qualifier series.

Two first half goals from Owen Brosnan and strikes from Mike Frank Russell and Tomas O’Se ensured that the game was over as a contest at half time when Kerry lead 4 4 to 0 5.

kerry eased up in the second half, taking off man of the match Colum Cooper, Seamus Moynihan, Dara O’Se and Russell, but still managed a fifth goal by substitute Liam Hasset.
