GAA: Awards given to club stars

Some of the top names in hurling and football were honoured today at the 6th AIB GAA Provincial Players Awards in Dublin, with all eight winners coming from the provincial champions.

In the Hurling category, the award for Connaught was collected by Galway and Clarinbridge half-forward Mark Kerins, who has been instrumental in helping his club to their first ever All Ireland final, with memorable wins against Athenry and Ballygunner of Waterford along the way.
