GAA: Video evidence clears Savage
All Ireland winning footballer Derek Savage has been cleared of any wrongdoing following his sending off for Galway in last Sunday’s Allianz National Football League clash with Donegal.
The GAA’s Games Administration Committee held a personal hearing with Savage today, and after watching video evidence of the incident, ruled it did not warrant a red card.
Gregory McCarten of Down, and Gerry McGovern of Sligo, were both also cleared of charges arising from their league clash on February 17.
Meath’s Darren Fay has received a 12-week suspension after his sending off against Monaghan last Sunday.
Longford’s Paul Barden, Wexford’s Pat Forde and Fermanagh’s Paul Brewster all received four-week suspensions from the GAC.
