GAA: Galway star Silke announces retirement
Galway's former All-Ireland winning captain Ray Silke has announced his retirement from inter-county football.
The Corofin club man made his decision last weekend following the club's success in the Galway Senior Football League.
Silke has represented Galway at minor, U-21 and senior level during a successful career.
His finest moment would be captaining the Tribesmen to All-Ireland glory in 1998.
He also guided Corofin to All-Ireland club success over Erin's Isle in the same year.
