GAA: Toomevara's Delaney in fitness race for Munster club clash

Toomevara centre back Tony Delaney is undergoing intensive treatment on a damaged thigh muscle ahead of Sunday's AIB Munster Club semi-final against Ballygummer.

The veteran limped out of last week's county final against Sarsfields - Toomevara's fourth successive title - but hopes are high that he will be ready to play.

Team manager Roger Ryan, a former hurling great with Tipperary, was "thrilled" with his side's display and is now looking forward to the foray into the Munster Club Championship.

"We are absolutely committed to put our best foot forward in a bid to regain the Munster club crown for Tipperary," he said.

The game takes place in Semple Stadium on Sunday at 2.15pm.
