Ciaran Carey has declared that he is over the worst of the ankle injury that has ravaged his inter-county hurling career to date.
He returns as centre back for the Limerick team to face provincial champions Cork in Sunday's Guinness Munster Hurling Championship clash at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Carey only returned to the fold earlier this year after taking time out from the game, only to suffer an ankle injury and a bout of the flu.
He had been doubtful for the Sunday summit-meeting due to both factors, but is reported to have come through those ailments, and is now fit, able and raring to go.
With Carey back, the Shannonsiders award Championship debuts to goalkeeper Timmy Houlihan and Paul O'Grady at right half forward.
