All Ireland champions, Kerry proved they will be a force to be reconned with again the year with a powerful display a disapointing Tipperary.
Kerry played wind assisted in the first half and a John Crowley goal in the eight minute set them on their way.
Kerry dominated the first half only faltering in the last few minutes to allow Tipp to get a much needed goal.
Kerry continued their dominance in the second half with a further two goals to kill off the game.
The game also marked the return of Kerry's attacking player Morris Fitzgerald, his first start since the Munster final in 1999.
