GAA: Offaly and Roscommon draw
Offaly 2-8 Roscommon 1-11 (Div 1A)
In a game in which both sides missed chances, Offaly and Roscommon shared the points in a 2-8 to 1-11 draw in Div 1A in Tullamore.
It was the visitors who came from behind, equalising with a last-minute point by centre half back Francie Grehan.
Under difficult conditions in a badly cut up pitch, both sides contrived to play constructive football, although some of the passing was erratic.
It was fitting that Grehan should have been his side's saviour, for he had an outstanding game at the heart of the Roscommon defence.
Offaly led at half-time by 2-5 to 1-6, their goals coming from Donie Ryan and Pascal Kellaghan, while the Roscommon goal came from a penalty by Gerry Lohan right on the 35th minute.
Roscommon finished the stronger side in an evenly-contested second half, but overall a draw was a fitting result
