GAA: Muldoon sees Derry through

Derry 3-16, Cavan 2-11 (full-time)

A superb performance from Enda Muldoon was the telling factor as Derry overturned a five point half time deficit to defeat Cavan.

Muldoon set up all three Derry goals as they ran all over the visitors, with Dermot Heaney, Patrick Bradley and Dermot Dougan on target.

Indeed, Derry's direct play in the second half cancelled out a disappointing first period which Cavan led 1-8 to 0-6 the goal from Jason Reilly.

A Dermot McCabe goal 12 mins into the second half did stem the tide, but in the end Muldoon's ability to dictate play saw Derry though.
