Graigue Ballycallan held on for a slender one-point win over Sixmilebridge in a thrilling All-Ireland club senior hurling semi-inal reaplay at Thurles today, winning by 1-13 to 1-12.

Graigue Ballycallan held on for a slender one-point win over Sixmilebridge in a thrilling All-Ireland club senior hurling semi-inal reaplay at Thurles today, winning by 1-13 to 1-12.

There was high drama at the finish as Sixmilebridge goalie Davy Fitzgerald blazed a penalty over the bar in the third minute of injury time with his side trailing by two points.

Graigue Ballycallan deserved to win - they were the better team all through but found it hard to shake off a persistenet Sixmilebridge.

The Kilkenny men started well with a goal by Eddie Breannan after five mins.

The were leading 1-08 to 1-04 as half-time approached but a goal by Brian Colbert for Sixmilebridge set up a thrilling second half.

Graigue were still on top in the second half and were five points ahead with four minutes to go.

Sixmilebridge then staged a pulsating rally which failed so narrowly to produce victory.
