Mount Sion prevail in Austin Gleeson’s absence

Despite losing Austin Gleeson to injury, Mount Sion overcame fierce rivals Roanmore 2-12 to 1-14 at Walsh Park on Saturday night.

The Sion skipper left the field after 14 minutes with a hamstring issue. Déise senior panellist Stephen Roche shot the winner two minutes into added time for John Meaney’s men.

Martin F O’Neill and Alan Kirwan netted for Sion in the opening half before Emmet O’Toole netted for Roanmore (2-6 to 1-7).
