Daniel Goulding bows out ‘at the right time’

The changing nature of intercounty football was the primary factor behind Cork attacker Daniel Goulding’s decision to retire.

Goulding, the man of the match when Cork won the All-Ireland SFC in 2010, announced his departure yesterday after 11 years as part of the Rebels’ panel.

With the corner-forward position very different to that when he started, he felt the time was right.
