Time for Cavan to make a mark on championship

He was captain of the team that sparked Cavan’s domination of the Ulster U21 championship, but Gearóid McKiernan says he’s “sick” of hearing about the county’s underage success.

After McKiernan’s side made the breakthrough in 2011, beating Sunday’s opponents Tyrone in the final, Cavan ruled the U21 grade in Ulster for four years.

Throw a 2011 Ulster minor title into the mix, and Cavan’s young guns should have enough ammunition to be flourishing at senior level.
