Battling St Finbarr’s edge home in thriller

St Finbarr’s 3-18 Glanmire 4-11 (After extra-time): A superb extra-time performance from St Finbarr’s ensured them a thrilling second round win over Glanmire in a highly entertaining Cork IFC game at Pairc Na Brian Diolunaigh last night.

This game had everything and with time slipping away from Glanmire in the normal 60 minutes they introduced former Cork Senior football star Michael Cussen in the 48th minute and he almost gained them an unlikely win with two stunning goals.

On a wet evening at the excellent Brian Dillons venue this was a highly charged game with Cian Madden punishing a goalkeeper error in the opening minute with a simple tap in to the empty net.
