Gritty Glen Rovers underline depth of scoring talent

The scoreline might suggest that this was a cracking game of hurling, but the truth is that the city team had built the platform which led to their eventual triumph in the opening half hour when they registered 17 points to their opponent’s 1-3.

Evan O’Connell, Dean Brosnan, Barry Hackett, Andrew Evans and Eoghan Cronin all were on target in that period with O’Connell firing over some superb points from play and placed balls. Dean Brosnan, who missed the senior team’s opener against Carbery last Sunday, was in scintillating form too, rifling over a quartet of points which was matched by the impressive Barry Hackett.
