In 20 words or less, here’s what’s on the line for your county’s footballers this weekend...

DIVISION 1

Dublin (12 points):

Away to Roscommon, a seventh straight win would add to their remarkable unbeaten AFL and SFC run of 22 games.

Roscommon (8pts):

Semi-final spot all but confirmed, beating Dublin in any guise would be major for Roscommon especially after defeat to Mayo.

Kerry (8pts):

No better way for Kerry to enter semi-finals by beating Cork thus avoiding a third consecutive league loss to them.

Donegal (6pts):

Sending Monaghan to Division 2 would be nice after 2015 Ulster final reversal. Would likely earn them a semi-final too.

Cork (6pts):

A middling campaign will be overlooked if Kerry can be beaten. It may even help earn them a last-four spot.

Mayo (6pts):

Beat Down by a decent margin and chances are they won’t be dragged to Division 2 with Eamon Burns’ side.

Monaghan (4pts):

Must beat Donegal and hope that either Down or Kerry do them a favour to stay up. Big asks.

Down (0pts):

Pride is all they have at stake in Castlebar.

DIVISION 2

Tyrone (11pts):

Yet to lose a match this year even if their mission to return to Division 1 after one season is complete.

Cavan (8pts):

Simple arithmetic: beat or draw with Galway at home and they will be among the big boys in 2017.

Galway (7pts):

Victory in Cavan will secure them a return to Division 1 for the first time since 2011.

Derry (6pts):

Can’t be promoted but even from fourth position there’s a slim chance of relegation. Need to be careful in Armagh.

Fermanagh (5pts):

Pete McGrath will be hoping Tyrone are in charitable mood in Enniskillen. A point to put safety beyond doubt.

Meath (4pts):

Almost a case of them or us against Laois. Securing only their second win should lift them from danger.

Armagh (4pts):

Need to beat Derry and well as it may come down to score difference. Their -22 record isn’t pretty.

Laois (3pts):

Beat Meath and hope for the best elsewhere. It’s difficult playing football with crossed fingers.

DIVISION 3

Kildare (10pts):

Safe in the knowledge they’ll be in Division 2 next year. Everybody bar Clare will hope they take weekend seriously.

Clare (8pts):

A win or a draw in Newbridge will be good enough to see them join Kildare in new environs.

Longford (6pts):

Promotion is mathematically possible but so too is relegation. Must avoid loss to Westmeath who are a point behind them.

Offaly (6pts):

In limbo like the other three teams on six points but should beat Limerick. Have a head-to-head edge on Clare too.

Sligo (6pts):

At least a point at home to Tipperary and they are safe. Score difference will likely count against them otherwise.

Tipperary (6pts):

Like Offaly, they’ve beaten Clare and there is a faint hope of promotion but survival is the priority.

Westmeath (5pts):

Win the derby against Longford and this forgettable campaign can be consigned to the past.

Limerick (1pt):

Division 4 football on the menu next season after some early signs of promise.

DIVISION 4

Antrim (12pts):

The Saffrons have Division 3 football to look forward to for the first time since 2013.

Louth (10pts):

Promoted Louth may be joined by Wexford on 10 points but will finish above them having won their recent duel.

Wexford (8pts):

Counting the cost of losing in Drogheda at the weekend. Carlow game decides who finished third.

Carlow (6pts):

Finishing third, by beating Wexford, would represent a progressive spring for Turlough O’Brien.

Wicklow (4pts):

Don’t want to become a second successive scalp for London. Trip to Ruislip will be tricky for them.

Leitrim (4pts):

Their score difference would suggest they are better than sixth spot. Must beat Waterford to prove it.

London (2pts):

They won at sixth time of asking but another victory, against Wicklow, would set them up nicely for the summer.

Waterford (2pts):

Their poor record against London continued at the weekend. Like their forthcoming opponents Leitrim, the table doesn’t do them justice.
