Pauric Mahony: ‘You would have doubts whether you’d get back out there’
His first brush with possession saw the sliotar roll harmlessly past him at a time when Waterford were searching frantically for an equalising score, but truthfully, Pauric Mahony didn’t care. Being on the field was satisfaction enough.
Mahony’s five-minute cameo at the end of Sunday’s Division 1 league clash at Walsh Park was his first taste of competitive fare since crumbling to the ground in agony with a broken tibia during the second half of Ballygunner’s club championship clash with Ballyduff Upper on May 9, 2015.
