Peadar Healy hails hard work
A Conor McManus goal on the half hour mark, followed as it was by three points in-a-row from the visitors, cut the gap to 1-10 to 1-6 — undoing much of Cork’s early dominance in the process — and so the two points in quick succession from Collins and O’Neill were crucial in keeping the home outfit out of reach from their opponents.
“We did get off to a good start, but we then let them back into it with a soft goal. They got a bit of momentum before half-time. So they were two vital scores we kicked, as were the two scores at the start of the second-half,” reflected Healy.
