Queens University Belfast and Trinity College Dublin will contest this afternoon’s Ryan Cup decider after both teams came through extremely tight semi-final affairs.

Trinity were forced to overcome a resilient IT Tralee side and the elements in the second of the afternoon’s double-header to set up a repeat of last year’s final which they won 1-18 to 1-9.

With the contest having been plagued by heavy rain from the off, referee Patrick Murphy called a halt to proceedings 10 minutes into the second-half as large puddles of water dotted the playing surface.
