Galway boss Micheal Donoghue wasn’t getting carried away with yesterday’s win over Cork, but he was happy to make a winning start to the league all the same.

“I think it was important to get back up and running. Getting the two points was a big bonus. We said it from day one the boys’ attitude and application since we came back has been top class. I’m not going to get carried away, and the team won’t get carried away with the performance.

“I think they tired in the second-half and our shot selection has to improve going forward. But we are very happy for the first day.”
