Cork GAA officials have moved to reject allegations circulating that minor players are being forced to choose between hurling and Gaelic football by selectors involved in managing the county minor football side.

At the Cork county convention on Sunday, chairman Ger Lane fielded questions from the floor about dual players in the minor grade and said that “dual Cork minors have always been there”, adding that accommodating dual players was a matter for individual management teams.

However, it is understood that at least two prospective dual Cork minors have been approached at home by a member of the football management team regarding next season and told that they have to choose one code over the other.
