A late goal from Mark Schutte was the icing on the cake for the Dalkey side. But while the Dublin corner-forward delivered the final blow, it was David Treacy’s immaculate record from frees that was the main ingredient in the substantial winning margin, as he was on target with each of his 12 placed ball opportunities.

“David Treacy was really good today and at this time of year frees are vital,” said Cuala manager Mattie Kenny afterwards.
