The barony of South Kerry has produced some of Gaelic football’s greatest managers. Obvious candidates are Waterville’s Mick O’Dwyer and Dromid native, Jack O’Connor, who both have masterminded multiple All Ireland senior titles for the Kingdom.

Another candidate attracting credit for instilling Killarney Legion with an attractive brand of football, and thus mirroring the philosophies of O’Dwyer and O’Connor, is Caherciveen native, Peter Keane.

Keane’s growing reputation saw him recently ratified as Kerry minor football boss for 2016, succeeding O’Connor who moves up to the U-21s.
