Tipperary star Noel McGrath makes return to club action

The Loughmore-Castleiney man has not featured for the county since he was diagnosed with testicular cancer in March.

However, he was on the sideline alongside the squad for this months’s Munster SHC final victory over Waterford.

He recently returned to training and played his first full championship game for his club on Sunday evening when he lined out at midfield in the Mid Tipperary SFC semi-final against Moyne-Templetuohy.

The game went to extra-time as Loughmore won 1-20 to 3-10. McGrath played the full 80 minutes, scoring a point.

With the club scheduled to play a Mid SHC semi-final against JK Brackens next weekend, McGrath hopes for as much game time as possible as he bids to return to the county squad for the All- Ireland semi-final on August 16.
