Hannon and Hickey back in for Limerick qualifier

Declan Hannon and Seamus Hickey have been returned to the Limerick hurling team for tomorrow evening’s qualifier clash against Dublin.

The inclusions of the aforementioned pair are the only changes made by Treaty boss TJ Ryan from the team which overcome Westmeath last Sunday.

Tom Condon misses out after sustaining a shoulder injury in the 4-15 to 1-12 win over Westmeath and is replaced by All Star defender Hickey. Seanie Tobin is unable to hold onto the centre-forward berth and drops to the bench.

Dublin hurling boss Ger Cunningham has opted to keep faith with the starting team that scored a 10-point win over Laois last Saturday.

Meanwhile, John Connellan has been named at right corner-forward in the Westmeath team to face Dublin in Sunday’s Leinster football final.

Connellan kicked two points after his first-half introduction in the semi-final victory over Meath and his inclusion is the sole change ahead of the county’s first provincial final appearance in 11 years. Darren Daly is the player to lose out.

Manager Tom Cribben has also made a number of positional switches with Denis Corroon moving to midfield from left-half forward, while Paul Sharry is selected at centre-forward having worn the number 8 shirt last time out.

Elsewhere, Tyrone’s Joe McMahon will make his first start of the season against Meath tomorrow afternoon.

The vastly experienced Omagh footballer comes in at centre-back for younger brother Justin, who is ruled out by injury, in one of two changes made by manager Mickey Harte. Niall Morgan returns in goal in place of the injured Mickey O’Neill.
