Waterford boss Derek McGrath rates Tipperary hurlers as ‘some of the best ever’

Ahead of Sunday’s Munster final, Waterford manager Derek McGrath has described some of the current Tipperary hurlers as “some of the best players who’ve ever played the game”.

Tipperary dismissed Limerick comfortably in the Munster semi-final and McGrath believes that will be a particular boost to the Premier County, having lost to the same opposition for the last two years in the provincial series.

“There’s the confidence Tipp get from that, going to Limerick, silencing a partisan crowd, ravenous workrate. I think some of the players playing for Tipperary are some of the best players who’ve ever played the game. That’s how highly I rate Tipperary.
