Peter Casey swoops as Limerick stun Cork

Cork 0-14 Limerick 1-14: Limerick maintained their dominance over Cork at minor hurling level when they defeated the Leesiders by a goal at the Gaelic Grounds last night in the semi-final of the Munster championship.

And there was no fluke about the result. It was thoroughly deserved by a side that had been beaten by a whopping 10 points in the opening round by the same opposition, and had every incentive to reverse that result in front of an attendance of 4,184.

The home side had a number of stars, notably corner forward Peter Casey who finished the game with 1-6 (1-2 from play); midfielder Darragh Carroll who was surprisingly replaced late in the game; and centre back Paddy O’Loughlin.
