Joe Brolly’s Paidi Ó Sé call

GAA pundit Joe Brolly has added to the clamour for a second tier football championship, and wants it to be named after an “inspirational” figure like Paidi Ó Sé.

Joe Brolly’s Paidi Ó Sé call

Speaking on RTÉ in the wake of Dublin’s 19-point demolition of Kildare in the Leinster SFC semi-final, Brolly claimed a ‘B’ championship was desperately needed, and naming it after the Kerry legend would make it all the more credible and something counties would aspire to winning.

“We’re the only sporting organisation in the world that deosn’t have a virbant second tier championship,” the Derry man said. “We need to give it proper respect, we need to play the final before the All-Ireland final. I think we should call it the Paidi Ó Sé Cup because you need a figure like that, an inspirational figure on the cup. It would be a brilliant thing.”
