Limerick may yet decide to bring Seanie Tobin’s disciplinary case to the Central Appeals Committee (CAC) after the Central Hearings Committee upheld the proposed one-match ban on Thursday evening.

The Murroe-Boher man was sent off for a straight red card by ref Colm Lyons in last Sunday’s Munster quarter-final in Thurles following a shoulder tussle with Patrick O’Connor.

On Twitter yesterday, Tobin maintained he did not touch O’Connor with his hurley. “Very disappointing outcome last night, for the record; I did not strike the player with my hurl last Sunday nor did I attempt to strike him... It’s not the end. I’ll be back #luimneachabú”
