Brolly ‘still cringing’ over Marty remarks

RTÉ pundit Joe Brolly has admitted he is mortified by the insulting remarks he made about colleague Marty Morrissey on the Sunday Game Live at the weekend.

Brolly found himself in hot water after a misjudged remark when he labelled Cavan’s style of play “as ugly as Marty Morrissey”.

The controversial pundit was publicly censured by RTÉ Head of Sport Ryle Nugent, who described the remarks as “inappropriate and extremely hurtful” and insisted a repeat would not be tolerated.
