Jimmy Barry-Murphy hopeful of quick Christopher Joyce return but Pa Cronin a worry

Cork hurling manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy is hopeful that defender Christopher Joyce, substituted with a knee injury on Saturday, will soon be back in action.

However the Rebels will be without Pa Cronin for the remainder of the league after he underwent surgery on a hand injury sustained in training.

“We’d have to be concerned. Dr Con (Murphy) and Deccie (O’Sullivan, physio) said he’d have to go for a scan and we’ll know more then. We’re hoping for the best.
