Anna Geary says the new Women’s Gaelic Players Association will strive to ultimately place camogie players and ladies footballers on the same player welfare footing as their male counterparts.

Cork camogie star Geary is an executive member of the WGPA, which will be formally launched this morning in Dublin.

She explained that the body is required to address many of the same issues that the Gaelic Players Association has been dealing with for the last 15 years or so in the men’s game.
