New Galway football manager Kevin Walsh said he will wait until he gets to know the squad better before deciding on who will captain them in 2015.

Paul Conroy, who is expected back in the next few weeks after undergoing knee surgery, captained Galway last year, while Finian Hanley skippered them before that.

Gareth Bradshaw led them out in their opening FBD League match against Sligo last weekend and Walsh said he would use different players to captain them, even into the league.

“It’s not a priority at the moment. For now it is a matter of trying out as many players as possible and we will be using the FBD League for that.

“We want to give as many players as possible a chance and the captaincy isn’t on the agenda at the moment,” added the former All Star whose side take on holders Leitrim in the second round of the FBD League at Mohill on Sunday where the winners are likely to go on to the final.
