Limerick boss Brudair wants Galvin to carry on

Limerick manager John Brudair says he wants veteran midfielder John Galvin to return for 2015.

Galvin, 34, helped adopted Cratloe retain their Clare football title after transferring to the club in late August and they’re in AIB Munster Club championship action this weekend.

He played for Limerick last summer, having overcome two cruciate knee ligament injuries in recent seasons though has yet to confirm his plans for next season.

“I said I’d let him off with Cratloe for the winter and leave him to focus on that,” said Brudair. “He’s in good shape as always and my hope would be that he returns next season.”

Brudair conceded, however, he’ll definitely be without experienced forward Ian Ryan for a number of Allianz League Division 3 games. He underwent ankle surgery earlier this week to correct an injury initially sustained in the 2013 Division 4 league final win over Offaly.

“He has to go back after six weeks which is around mid December and if the healing is good then he can probably start his rehab then, if not it’ll be a few more weeks,” added Brudair.
