Eight in-a-row for Portlaoise

Portlaoise 2-14 Arles-Killeen 0-9

Laois SFC final: Portlaoise made it eight Laois SFC titles in-a-row with an 11 point win over Arles-Killeen at O’Moore Park yesterday.

Paul Kingston’s quick-fire double of pointed frees gave Arles-Killeen the initiative with ten minutes gone, but Portlaoise hit back with six points in a row to lead 0-7 to 0-3 at half-time.

The reigning champions made a bright start to the second half as well, outscoring Arles-Killeen 0-4 to 0-1 in the opening ten minutes, to take a firm grip.

Killeen never really threatened a comeback and two late goals, from Ricky Maher and Paul Cahillane, ensured Portlaoise would march on into yet another Leinster Club SFC campaign.
