Rebels set to confirm Flanagan role
Flanagan is regarded as one of the top practitioners in this area of team preparation — formerly an international sprinter and national sprint champion, he has worked with many inter-county teams including Laois, Dublin, Roscommon and Longford.
In 2013 alone, he worked as strength and conditioning coach with the Waterford senior hurlers and the footballers of Dr Crokes in Kerry.
The Waterford native is best known for his success with the Kerry senior footballers, however, as he helped the Kingdom to win three All-Ireland senior titles, three national league titles and four Munster titles.
A lecturer in the Institute of Technology Tralee, there may be surprise in Kerry football circles that Flanagan is joining their near neighbours and rivals, but he will be seen on Leeside as a considerable acquisition and a boost to the Rebel County footballers for the 2015 season.
