Retired Browne finding it hard to let go

On Monday evening last, Tony Browne pushed his 41-year old body through a well-worn 5km run close to where he lives. As ever, it felt good.

It was a couple of days since he’d attended a Waterford training session as a random supporter, the first he’d turned up at since retiring in the spring.

Naturally enough, he found it difficult to quieten his mind while watching. He questioned if he was still up to it as the players performed a series of three-quarter-paced sprint drills.
