O’Brien: I give Meath a chance

It was approaching six o’clock and the stadium was all but deserted when belated stirrings of possible trouble for Dublin in this year’s Leinster Championship were finally being suggested.

O’Brien: I give Meath a chance

Aidan O’Brien had just delivered his verdict on this loss for his Wexford side and was about to rise from his chair when one final question winged his way: what chance Meath in the Leinster final?

“Meath showed last year they could give it a good rattle. I didn’t see very much of their game today. Obviously beating Kildare is a substantial result. They will have the experience of having played in the Leinster final against Dublin last year. That will definitely stand to them. I would give Meath a chance. I suppose, like anybody else, Dublin will be worthy favourites. I am quite sure Meath will relish the position they find themselves in.”
