Cork trio to miss league opener against Limerick

Cork manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy expects to be without captain Pa Cronin, Conor O’Sullivan and Séamus Harnedy for the Allianz Hurling League Division 1B opener against Limerick on February 15.

Cronin (knee), O’Sullivan (groin) and Harnedy (hip) are all recovering from injuries and will not be fit for the Páirc Uí Rinn clash.

“We don’t know how long they’ll be out for yet, we’re waiting on medical reports from Dr Con [Murphy] and [physio] Declan O’Sullivan. They’re in the process of rehab so we’ll know more soon.”

Paudie O’Sullivan is still recovering from a leg-break sustained last April, with the Cloyne attacker unlikely to play a part in the league campaign. Dual players Eoin Cadogan and Aidan Walsh did not line out for the hurlers on Saturday as they had football commitments.

“They were playing against Dublin this week and they have national league next weekend,” Barry-Murphy said.

“Their priority at the moment is football but they trained with us last weekend.”
