Westmeath drive on with three-year Renault deal
Renault Ireland have come on board as sponsors to all Westmeath GAA teams.
The deal will include Brian Hanley’s senior hurling side and all other Westmeath GAA teams.
Paul Bealin will take charge of Westmeath for the first time next Sunday when they take on his native Dublin in the opening round of the O’Byrne Cup.
Westmeath county board secretary James Savage said that the sponsorship deal was a great boost to the GAA in the county.
“We are very grateful to Renault Ireland for coming on board and we look forward to working with them in the next few years.
“These are exciting times for Westmeath GAA and it is a wonderful boost to have such a reputable company backing us, especially given the difficult economic environment that is out there,” he said.
He paid tribute to outgoing sponsor Annebrook House Hotel and said they would continue to have a good relationship with them into the future.
“It’s a great way to start the new year and hopefully it will continue throughout 2014 on all fronts,” he added.
He said full details of the new sponsorship deal with Renault Ireland would be disclosed at a county committee meeting next week.
