The Monaghan side also won this title in 2009 and looked the more threatening team on Saturday night, but needed a couple of smart blocks from goalkeeper Gerard McCaffrey to get past Tyrone champions Killeeshil.

Killeeshil started brightly with early points from Gary Reilly and former Tyrone All-Ireland winner Kevin Hughes opening up a 0-3 to 0-1 lead after 16 minutes.
