Geezer’s Armagh return

Kieran McGeeney has joined Paul Grimley’s Armagh backroom team for the 2014 season.

The move comes just over a month after McGeeney’s six-year tenure as Kildare boss ended.

Interestingly, Paul Grimley was previously a member of McGeeney’s backroom team in Kildare.

The former’s first year in charge of the Orchard County ended with a defeat to Galway in round three of the qualifiers on 20 July.

Peter McDonnell and Martin McQuillan will also be part of the Armagh management ticket.

Julie Davis, who was involved with Kildare in recent seasons, will be the strength and conditioning coach, while James Doyle is named as speed coach.
