Kilcormac-Killoughey finally kill off battling Seir Kieran
Kilcormac-Killoughey captain Ciaran Slevin won the toss and elected to play into the breeze in the first half, a decision that was vindicated by their fast start. However, after conceding the first three points, Seir Kieran battled their way back into contention, briefly taking the lead before Daniel Currams’ goal in the 22nd minute.
Kilcormac-Killoughey led 1-7 to 0-8 at half-time but a stunning penalty from Joe Bergin restored Seir Kieran’s lead immediately after the restart. Bergin missed a second penalty midway through the half but when he set up Shane Ryan for a goal to level the tie at 1-13 to 2-10 shortly after, a grandstand finish looked likely.
However, the champions cut short those dreams with a string of fine scores from distance in the last ten minutes.
