Murphy closing in on Cork recall

Brian Murphy is closing in on a sensational return to Cork’s starting fifteen for tomorrow week’s All-Ireland hurling final against Clare.

Murphy has made a remarkable recovery from a broken collarbone sustained earlier in the season.

Normally a season-ending injury, Murphy’s fracture healed remarkably quickly and Cork manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy indicated after the Rebels’ semi-final win over Dublin that the defender could have been sprung from the bench if needed against the Leinster champions.
