Cats chairman urges Cody to stay on

Kilkenny want Brian Cody to say on as hurling manager for what would be a 16th season in charge.

Cats chairman urges Cody to stay on

Cats chairman, Ned Quinn, has confirmed the board’s position regarding Cody, stating: “My personal wish is that there would be no major change and that the management and players would continue with the county.

“All who were involved with the team in Thurles still have an awful lot to offer,” he added in reference to the All-Ireland quarter-final defeat by Cork.

“Remember, we did win the national league,” Quinn added.

The chairman stopped short of issuing an appeal to Cody and selectors, Michael Dempsey and Martin Fogarty to remain in the job because the decision had to be personal, but there could be no stronger endorsement for the status quo to remain.
