McNeice’s season at an end

Tyrone attacker Paddy McNeice is out for the rest of the season with a broken collar bone.

He had been on the field less than 10 minutes when he suffered the injury in the latter stages of Saturday’s All-Ireland quarter-final win over Monaghan at Croke Park.

“The collar bone is broken in two places,” team trainer Fergal McCann confirmed.

McNeice is due to have an operation at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, having had the injury assessed there yesterday. He was detained overnight in Dublin’s Mater Hospital, where he was admitted on Saturday evening.

“We’re hoping the operation will be done sooner rather than later, there’s no date set,” said McCann.
