Experienced Murphy, 30, played a vital role in nullifying rising Clare star Tony Kelly in the semi-final win. But a shoulder injured picked up on club duty against Ballinhassig in the Cork SHC has ruled him out of the Gaelic Grounds showpiece on Sunday week.

“It’s very disappointing,” said Cunningham. “It happened just right at the end of the game he was playing. In the last 30 seconds, he just got caught with a shoulder. It’s a shame for himself first of all. It’s a long-term injury.
