Cats wait on Murphy

Ahead of Saturday’s Leinster semi-final replay, Kilkenny are today awaiting scans to determine the extent of All-Star defender Paul Murphy’s ankle injury.

It is suspected the Danefort man may have suffered ligament damage.

Murphy collapsed in pain during the first half of Sunday’s thrilling draw with Dublin in Portlaoise and was replaced by PJ Hogan.

Jackie Tyrrell could now be in line to replace his fellow corner-back should Murphy, as expected, not be deemed fit for selection.

Tyrrell injured his quad in the quarter-final win over Offaly earlier this month.
