Dublin’s Brady crocked

Dublin footballer Tomás Brady has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after he suffered a cruciate ligament injury earlier this week.

Na Fianna clubman Brady sustained the injury in training earlier this week. The former county hurler picked up the same injury two years ago in a Leinster SHC game against Galway, but having returned to action with the hurlers last year, he committed to the footballers for this year’s campaign.

Dublin manager Jim Gavin said: “On a personal level this is very frustrating for Tómas, who played a key role during the league campaign and, having returned from a recent knock, was back again competing to a very high standard.
