Joe tees off charities fundraiser

Joe Brolly was in Croke Park yesterday to launch the 14th annual All-Ireland GAA Golf Challenge in aid of Opt For Life and local Waterford charities.

The kidney donor joined GAA president Liam O’Neill, Eddie Keher, Davy Fitzgerald and Barney Rock to announce all profits from this year’s competition will go to the charities with awareness also being raised about Opt For Life, the campaign to make organ donation an opt-out system across the island of Ireland.

The Challenge, which will be held again in Waterford Castle Golf Club from September 12 to 14, is the premium golf event for Gaels, a four-person team event with each quarter representing their GAA club for All-Ireland glory.
